'VWX' Norfolk Island photo a day

V is for Violet.
I forgot to take photos of the little native violets growing at Minischool so I had to think outside the box and decided to post photos of this amazing violet coloured sunset I took photos of down at Kingston a few years ago.

W is for Watermelon.
We have to wait another 4 or 5 months for my favourite fruit to come into season, but It is so worth it the wait.
mmmm summerfruit

X is for X.
Our very own X marks the spot on Norfolk Island, the airport runway.
My cousin took me up in the ultralight a few years ago, this was my grateful view while coming back in to land.
I loved the whole terrifying experience and the chance to take photos from a different angle. (satellite image from above in comments)
X marks the spot!

'STU' Norfolk Island photo a day

S is for Stars, Sunsets and Silhouettes.

I have always loved the stars on top of the Norfolk Island pine trees.

T is for Terns

U is for Underwater....where I like to turn back into a mermaid each summer.
And also the artistic subject I most love to paint.

A colourful sunset

This mornings sunrise was spectacular but I didn't take any photos as I was on a daily walk with my friend Rose at 5:45am and no camera.

We oohed and aahed at the amazing colours reflected in the sky, on the water and even on the trees, Philip Island and Mount Pitt and Mount Bates. Yes we can see it all from the top of my hill.

This evening I saw the sky begin to colour up and I knew I had to grab my camera. I then saw amazing colours in the backyard over the water (North East, usually spectacular sunrises) so I took some photos here before running out into the front yard, barefoot and fresh from the shower I kept running up the road to keep capturing the amazing colours all around.

I trod on a few thistle plants in the bicentennial reserve across the road over looking ball bay (South West). My feet were freezing by this stage but I am glad I kept going so I could get these photos.

You're Welcome :)

Friday Favourite ~ Autumn sunsets are the best (dar bas)

Over looking Puppies point and out to sea.

It was a spectacular lightshow as the sun set at Puppies Point on the Anson bay side of the island.
Even looking up towards the moon was a treat.
It is no wonder why so many of our tourists love it here.
