Friday Favourite Photo~ FMX

The FMX trans tasman competition tonight was a fabulous event for everyone on Norfolk Island.
It is primarily a fundraiser for the Norfolk Island Junior Rugby league club but this 2nd Freestyle Motocross night has become a highlight in our memories.

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas 2013

Fun at Minischool as we start to celebrate Christmas.
I facepainted the children's faces here before we went to sing Christmas songs for the oldies living at the hospital.

 dress ups are fun

Friday Favourite Photo~ Dripped Sandcastles

During my childhood holidays camping at 7 mile beach Gerroa every January (and on Norfolk Island too), we loved to create dripped castles in the sand.

I enjoyed doing the same with my children this week.
Who says I need to grow up anyway☻

Happy first day of Summer 2013

Well, I feel like I have waited a long time for Summer to get here and now it has, I am jumping into the beautiful Emily bay at Kingston Norfolk Island as much as I can.

Emily bay is the ultimate beach, no big waves to knock you over except in one corner at high tide which has some great mini rolling sets near the historic convict built salt house.

A raft to swim to.

Plenty of amazing coral and fish to view through the goggles and snorkel.

Lots of sand and plenty of room to build castles on.

Always a friend or two to play with.

Sand dunes, pine trees and tables to picnic on.

Amazing history and views.

Rainbows and firelight

Most people know that my favourite colours are rainbows :)

Teddy takes his big brother role seriously and asked me to stop the car so he could take his little brother out to see the rainbow.

Every time I see one, I have to take photos.

A bit of sunshine, a bit of rain and you have one of natures most magical shows next to sunsets.
Speaking of sunsets, this was the last ray of sunlight on the same day as the rainbows and the fire below.

That same night I was blessed to be in the company of good friends and watching 2 of their young boys practise their fire stick twirling.

They offered my son Teddy and my friend Shell's Harry a turn. They were so excited to be given the opportunity.
look at that smile, it says it all

When one friend put on some Tahitian dancing music the rest of the girls & ladies began a spontaneous island dance group dance.
It was an amazing part of living on a south pacific island steeped in culture that we get to experience by living here.
